UIeCare is the only on-demand virtual care service available 24 hours a day, anywhere in Iowa.
While working for University of Iowa Health Care, I helped launch and promote the first iteration of the UIeCare.com website. To give a little bit of background about UIeCare:
UIeCare is the only on-demand virtual care service available 24 hours a day, every day of the year for all English and Spanish-speaking healthcare consumers seeking treatment for minor illnesses and conditions in Iowa. With a 95% patient satisfaction rate, UIeCare's virtual care providers – who are licensed and credentialed by University of Iowa Health Care – deliver private, convenient, effective and appropriate eCare to patients and their family via secure video conferencing. UIeCare also maintains the continuity of a patient’s care, and send the details of the visit to their physician. If appropriate, UIeCare providers also refer a patient to an Emergency Department or clinic in his or her community, or send a prescription to a patient’s local pharmacy. Anyone physically located in Iowa can benefit from the world-class care one expects from the University of Iowa through UIeCare, even if he or she is not currently a patient, not a resident or are not insured: a patient simply needs a credit card and a smartphone or computer with a webcam.
While working for University of Iowa Health Care, one of my primary responsibilities was to create all supplemental marketing materials, videos, and testimonials for UIeCare. I loved it - both as an advocate and a patient. It was an enormous undertaking transitioning UIeCare from sketches on a whiteboard to a fully functional website. So many talented people were involved in this collaboration: Health Care Information Systems professionals, EPIC programmers, administrators, lawyers, marketers, schedulers, health care providers, and countless others I never intersected paths.
